Four weeks to departure

I am an Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia in the Faculty of Medicine. Four weeks and four days from now and I will be on my way to Kathmandu. This will be my 10th trip to Nepal since 1999. The first time I went primarily to walk in the mountains but I have returned again and again because of the people and the culture of this wonderful country.

Sponsored this year by AHED I will be co-directing the Cardio block to the first year medical students in the Patan Academy of Health Sciences (wwwpahs.edu.np) along with Dr. Jason Waechter (Anaesthesia and Critical Care Medicine at U of C) and Dr. Bibiana Cujec (Cardiology U of A). Our Cardio Block Director at Patan Academy is Ms. Mili Joshi.

I recognize that some of you may not be familiar with the education or a cardio content, so here are a few acronyms I will be using from time to time:
